KWABHACA – The Eastern Cape Department of Health has deployed a team of doctors and tracers to the Makaula Senior Secondary School in KwaBhaca.
The deployment comes after 204 learners and hostel assistants tested positive for COVID-19.

The department is now trying to prevent the further spread of the virus.
It is also looking into possibly converting the hostel into an isolation facility as another measure of preventing the further spread of the coronavirus.

A team of clinicians have already been sent to the school.
They will ascertain if the hostel meets minimum standards for quarantine and isolation facilities. .

Those that have tested positive are in isolation within the Alfred Nzo District Municipal area.
